Audi Middle East reports that all 39 of its available model and engine variants now feature energy recuperation as a standard in the Middle East. The Audi energy recovery system, which uses kinetic energy during deceleration, increases efficiency, particularly in urban traffic and saves fuel - up to 3%, depending on the driving cycle.

With a total of 3,146 vehicles delivered to the GCC and Levant over the first half of 2010, Audi Middle East reports a healthy 8.5% growth in sales. The UAE remains the biggest market in the region for the brand with the four rings. Audi registered a 16.4% sales increase to 1,181 units in the Emirates. Further core markets are Saudi Arabia and Kuwait, both with over 500 units in sales in the first half of 2010 and 21.2% and 0.4% growth respectively.

The Audi Group increased its revenue by 21% in the first six months of the current fiscal year to EUR17.6bn (2009: 14.5). Meanwhile the 61.6% rise in operating profit easily outstripped revenue growth, setting a new Company record for the first half-year of more than EUR1.3bn (EUR823m). The Audi Group clearly benefited from the worldwide recovery in demand and its attractive model range. In the first six months of the fiscal year, deliveries by the Audi brand rose to a new record high of 554,939 (465,804) cars.

Unit sales at Audi continue to increase. In May the Ingolstadt company sold 14.6% more cars worldwide than in May 2009. With around 94,900 units last month, the number of premium cars sold so far this year has increased to about 455,700, a rise of 21.7%. Audi AG recorded growth in all regions, achieving the biggest increases in the company's most important export markets China, Great Britain and the United States.

Audi AG has recorded its strongest first quarter ever with about 264,100 cars delivered worldwide so far this year. The brand with the four rings recorded double-digit growth figures in all sales regions - Europe, North and South America, Asia-Pacific, and Africa including the Middle East region.
