October 18, 2006Yep, you read that right. Subaru of Indiana Automotive is hiring to build Camrys.
If you recall Toyota bought part of Subaru this past year, with the intent of building Camrys in the Subaru plant in Indiana. This plant was originally a joint-venture between Subaru and Isuzu. However Isuzu bailed a few years back when their sales started to nosedive. As a result Subaru has had a lot of extra building capacity. So the Camry tie-in was a natural.
All that is yesterday's news. Now they're getting ready to build more cars, and they need workers. SIA and the Indiana Department of Workforce Development have collaborated to design a paperless, online application process that will begin on Oct. 30. Applications also will be accepted at any WorkOne office in Indiana. Interested?
