GM sales slide 25 percent in August

DETROIT Sales of the Lansing-made Cadillac CTS jumped nearly 61 percent in August, a bright spot among General Motors Co.s overall U.S. sales that slid about 25 percent. GM reported today it sold 185,176 vehicles last month, down from 246,479 in August 2009, when the federal Cash for Clunkers program boosted sales.
